Ouzo Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 (3 3/4 oz.) instant lemon pudding mix
  • 1/4 c. ouzo
  • 1 (18 1/2 oz.) box lemon cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 c. water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°.
  2. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle nuts evenly over bottom of pan.
  3. Combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil and ouzo.
  4. Beat 3 minutes.
  5. Pour batter over nuts in tube pan; bake 1 hour.
  6. Place on rack; cool 30 minutes. Invert on serving plate.
  7. Prick with skewer and pour on syrup.
  8. Let stand at least 30 minutes.
  9. Serves 12.
