Instructions
- Put 2 cups sugar and milk on to boil.
- In a heavy skillet, put 1 cup sugar and caramelize it slowly.
- (Heat until melted and light brown.)
- Then add to the other sugar and milk.
- Add it slowly so it will not boil over, stirring constantly.
- Continue cooking to the soft boil when dropped into cold water.
- Remove from heat.
- Add salt, nuts, butter and vanilla and beat until creamy.
- Pour into a well-greased pan to cool.
- Cut into squares.
