Ingredients

  • 6 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup lard
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. Add a little of the sugar to the warm water.
  2. Add yeast and dissolve it well.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and make a soft dough.
  4. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Work down the dough and divide into small pieces about the size of an egg.
  6. Roll each piece between your hands to the shape of a hot dog.
  7. Place the rolls close together in a loaf pan.
  8. Let the rolls rise until doubled in size.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 20 minutes.
