Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick oleo
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Karo syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup pecans, cut up

Instructions

  1. Combine oleo, sugar, and Karo syrup in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Add vanilla and baking soda to the mixture.
  4. Pour the caramel mixture over pecans and Ritz Bits.
  5. Bake for 1 hour at 250°F, stirring every 10 minutes.
  6. Pour out onto wax paper and separate as it cools.
