Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup Karo syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 dashes salt
  • food coloring
  • 6 to 8 quarts popped corn

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, milk, Karo syrup, butter, and salt; cook over medium heat until the mixture reaches the soft ball stage, stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the desired amount of food coloring until the glaze is pink.
  3. Pour the pink glaze over 6 to 8 quarts of popped corn, adding a little at a time and stirring gently until all corn is coated.
  4. Continue stirring the coated corn until the glaze firms up and separates from the popcorn, forming a glossy coating.
