Ingredients

  • 1 lb. baking potatoes
  • 4 c. vegetable oil
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a heavy, deep pot or an electric fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  2. Add the peeled and cut potatoes in batches and fry until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes per batch.
  3. Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper before serving.
