Potato Griddle Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of white pepper
  • shortening or butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Beat egg and a little milk, then add flour and remaining milk while beating.
  2. Allow to stand for 2 hours.
  3. Wash, peel and grate potatoes.
  4. Add them to batter and blend thoroughly.
  5. Season.
