Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Measure flour.
  2. Sift flour.
  3. Sift with 3 tablespoons sugar and salt.
  4. Cut in butter (as in pie crust).
  5. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  6. Add 1 teaspoon sugar.
  7. Let stand until foams. Mix egg yolks and cream.
  8. Add foaming yeast.
  9. Make dent in flour; add mixture.
