Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans Italian plum tomatoes (whole)
  • 1 (16 oz.) can pitted whole black olives, drained
  • 4 Tbsp. capers, drained
  • 6 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Saute garlic in the oil until soft and golden brown.
  2. Add the tomatoes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Add olives, capers, basil and red pepper.
  4. Simmer in uncovered pot for 20 minutes, stirring it gently, until sauce has thickened.
  5. Great on any type of pasta.
