Instructions
- Pour scalded milk over bread crumbs.
- Add melted butter and allow to stand 15 minutes.
- Beat yolks slightly and add sugar, vanilla and salt.
- Blend well and add to bread mixture.
- Beat until smooth.
- Turn into greased baking dish and bake in slow oven at 300° for 45 to 50 minutes or until custard is firm.
- Remove from oven; cool.
- Spread top of pudding with the following meringue and return to oven.
- Cook as directed and serve warm.
