Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 sticks butter

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the sifted flour, sugar, and salt to the creamed butter.
  3. Beat the mixture until stiff and well combined.
  4. Divide the dough into portions.
  5. Roll out each portion between two sheets of wax paper to a 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters or a knife.
  7. Lift the shaped dough with a spatula and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 20 minutes or until lightly golden.
