Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 6 c. flour
  • 2 c. lukewarm water

Instructions

  1. In a measuring cup, dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water and set aside.
  2. Cream Crisco in a large bowl.
  3. Alternately add flour with 2 cups lukewarm water and salt to the Crisco, mixing after each addition.
  4. When half the ingredients have been added, mix in the yeast mixture.
  5. Continue adding the remaining ingredients until a dough forms.
  6. Cover the dough and refrigerate.
  7. Let the dough rise for at least 2 hours before baking.
