Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 12 ounces warm beer
  • 3 tablespoons dry rubbed sage

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the self-rising flour, sugar, and dry rubbed sage.
  2. Add the warm beer and mix with a spoon until blended.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
  5. Cool on a wire rack.
  6. While still warm, rub butter on the top if desired.
