Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell

Instructions

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in glass bowl.
  2. Cook in microwave at 50% power until smooth and blended.
  3. (Can also be done in double boiler, if preferred.)
  4. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well.
  5. Blend in vanilla.
  6. Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into chocolate mixture.
  7. Blend thoroughly and pour into pie shell.
  8. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
  9. Serve with whipped cream.
  10. Serves 8.
