- Cook, stirring constantly, until reaches soft ball stage on candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat; start beating with mixer until it gets too hard to beat, then beat with wooden spoon.
- Add nuts before beating with wooden spoon.
- Beat until stiff.
- Drop by spoon on waxed paper.
- If it gets too hard before all is dropped, set pan in hot water and leave until you finish dropping.
