Ingredients

  • large cucumbers
  • salt
  • 6 cups vinegar
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Peel and remove seeds from very large cucumbers.
  2. Slice the cucumbers lengthwise.
  3. Soak the cucumber slices in salt for 24 hours to shrink them.
  4. Rinse the salted cucumbers well with cold water.
  5. Prepare 6 quart jars for storing the pickles.
