Slow Cooker Venison

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 to 2 lb. venison, cut up (Back strap is best)
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 3/4 c. red wine
  • dash of garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon and add onions, bell peppers and garlic to grease; stir until done.
  3. Season venison with salt, pepper and garlic salt and rub thoroughly with Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Brown meat in pot with onions and bell peppers.
  5. After meat is brown, add wine, one cup of water and crumbled bacon.
  6. Cook in slow cooker (medium setting) for about 5 hours or until meat is tender.
  7. Serve over rice.
  8. Great with white beans.
