  • 1 can frozen orange juice
  • 1 c. whiskey
  • 1 c. cold water

  2. Freeze until solid.
  3. When ready to serve, spoon 1/3 cup or more of the slush into a glass.
  4. Add 7-Up to the glass with the slush.
  5. Garnish with a cherry or 1/2 orange slice.
  6. Keep remaining slush frozen until ready to use again.

Tips & Substitutions

To enhance the flavor, consider using herbal tea instead of strong tea for a unique twist. If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, simply omit the whiskey and increase the cold water or add more fruit juices. You can also experiment with different flavored frozen juices for a variety of slush options. Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar based on your taste preference.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the slush in tall glasses with a splash of 7-Up for a fizzy finish. Garnish with a cherry or a half orange slice for a vibrant presentation. This slush pairs beautifully with light snacks like Vegetable Soup(Low Calorie) or a fruit salad for a refreshing meal. It's perfect for summer gatherings or as a fun party drink.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover slush in an airtight container in the freezer, where it will keep for up to two weeks. To rehydrate and serve again, simply spoon out portions and let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before mixing with 7-Up. This way, you maintain the slush's texture without losing its refreshing qualities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this slush ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the slush a day or two in advance. Just make sure to store it in an airtight container in the freezer. When you're ready to serve, scoop some into a glass and add the 7-Up for a refreshing drink that’s perfect for entertaining.

What can I use instead of whiskey?

If you want to avoid alcohol, simply leave out the whiskey and increase the amount of cold water or lemonade to maintain the volume. You can also add a splash of ginger ale or another sparkling beverage for a similar bubbly effect.

How long does the slush last in the freezer?

The slush can last in the freezer for about two weeks if stored properly in an airtight container. However, for the best flavor and texture, it's recommended to consume it within a week. After that, it may lose some of its freshness.
