Ingredients

  • cucumbers
  • canning salt
  • 4 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • dill
  • garlic
  • pepper pod

Instructions

  1. Wash
  2. and
  3. salt cucumbers, use enough salt and water to float an
  4. egg.
  5. Soak
  6. overnight.
  7. Next
  8. morning,
  9. drain.
  10. Mix water, sugar and vinegar; bring to a boil.
  11. Drop cucumbers in hot
  12. brine. When
  13. they
  14. change color, take them out and drain brine.
  15. Pack cucumbers in jars.
  16. Let brine come to a boil and pour
  17. over packed cucumbers.
  18. Add dill, garlic and pepper pod and seal.
