Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 pound walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, and milk, stirring constantly.
  2. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then boil for 10 minutes without stirring, until the syrup reaches soft ball stage (234° to 240°).
  3. Remove the pan from the heat, and add the walnuts and vanilla.
  4. Spread the candy out on wax paper.
  5. Let cool before cutting.
