Spiced Oranges

Ingredients

  • 12 navel oranges
  • 1 pt. white vinegar
  • 8 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 to 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Tbsp. whole cloves

Instructions

  1. Cut oranges into 1/4-inch slices.
  2. Simmer in water to cover for 1 1/2 hours.
  3. Drain well.
  4. Combine vinegar, sugar, cinnamon sticks and cloves in a large pan.
  5. Bring to boil; boil 5 minutes. Add orange slices; boil until clear, about 1/2 hour.
  6. Good served with turkey, pork or lamb.
