Spicy Dried Fruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 2 (8 ounce) packages mixed dried fruit
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 12 cups orange juice
  • 12 cup sugar
  • 2 lemon slices, cut 1/2 inch thick
  • 10 whole cloves

Instructions

  1. Cut up any large pieces of dried fruit.
  2. Place fruit and raisins in a large saucepan.
  3. Stir in orange juice and sugar.
  4. Bring to boil.
  5. Stud lemon slices with cloves.
  6. Add to pan.
  7. Add cinnamon sticks.
  8. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until fruit is tender.
  9. Discard lemon slices and cinnamon sticks.
  10. Cool slightly.
  11. Spoon into serving dishes.
  12. Top with whipped cream.
