Steamed New Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3 or 5 lbs new potatoes
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 Tbsp dried garlic
  • 2 Tbsp dried onion
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash potatoes and place them in a large steam pan.
  2. Fill the bottom pan with water halfway to the top and add dried garlic and dried onion to the water.
  3. Bring the water to a boil.
  4. Place the steam pan with potatoes over the water pan.
  5. Cut the butter into small pieces and drop on top of the potatoes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cover the steam pan, reduce heat to a simmer, and let steam for about 30 to 45 minutes.
  8. Check for doneness by pricking with a fork.
  9. Before serving, sprinkle with parsley flakes and add more butter if desired.
