Ingredients

  • 6 pears
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 8 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Pare and core the pears.
  2. Place the pears in cold water until ready to use.
  3. Make a syrup by boiling 2 cups of water with 8 tablespoons of sugar.
  4. Add the pears to the syrup, cored side down.
  5. Boil gently until the pears are soft.
  6. Add lemon juice before removing from heat.
