Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. molasses
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. each: cinnamon, cloves and ginger

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, sugar, egg and molasses.
  2. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger.
  3. Shape into small balls and roll into white sugar.
  4. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
