Sure Shoot Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 pkg. quick rise yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix first 4 ingredients, stir until Crisco melts.
  2. Add one beaten egg and 1 package quick rise yeast dissolved in 2 tablespoons warm water.
  3. Add 3 cups flour.
  4. Beat until dough is smooth.
  5. Cover and let rise until double in bulk, about 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Turn out on floured surface and knead until smooth and no longer sticky.
  7. Roll out to about 3/8-inches thick.
  8. Cut with large cutter.
  9. Brush with melted oleo and fold over.
  10. Place in greased pan.
  11. Let rise until doubled again.
  12. Bake at 450° for 10 to 15 minutes.
  13. Makes about 18 large rolls.
