- Cover whole cucumbers in salt water and let stand for 10 days.
- Take out the cucumbers and cut them.
- Put the cucumbers in clear water for 24 hours.
- Remove the cucumbers and put them in alum water.
- Heat the alum water to warm on the stove for 2 hours, just covered in alum water, stirring occasionally.
- Take from hot water and chill in ice water.
