- Pour the flour, cornstarch, sugar, oil and baking powder into a mixing bowl.
- Add the flat beer slowly, bringing the consistency of the batter to that of a pancake batter. (Normally about 3/4 of a cup of beer).
- From here anything you want to deep fry is fair game.
- Wash and pat dry the fryables.
- This will help to keep the oil from foaming.
- Coat with the batter and drop into hot oil.
- The batter will fluff.
- If it fluffs but has holes in it the beer wasn't flat enough.
