Ingredients

  • 1 gal. fresh peas
  • 1 small hot pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
  • water

Instructions

  1. Pick peas (black-eyes, crowders, purple hulls or other). Shell promptly, then rinse well.
  2. Place in saucepan with water to cover along with other ingredients.
  3. Simmer about 1 hour, stirring often.
  4. (Add water as needed.)
