Ingredients

  • 1 c. white flour
  • 1 c. yellow corn meal
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients.
  2. Add enough cold water to form a stiff ball.
  3. Knead until well mixed.
  4. Pinch off pieces the size of grapes.
  5. Roll into balls.
  6. Boil water with 1/4 onion in saucepan. Remove onion pieces and discard when the water boils.
  7. Pour dough balls into boiling water and cook until they rise to the surface. Takes only 1 to 2 minutes.
  8. Remove the balls and lay them out to cool and harden.
  9. They will keep for days and can be placed in dampened cloth before using to soften them up.
