Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. water
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan.
  2. Stir over heat until sugar is dissolved and let boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
  3. Cover the pan and allow the syrup to cool.
  4. Add lemon juice to the syrup for flavor and to prevent discoloration.
  5. Refrigerate the syrup and use as needed for freezing melons.
