Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. vegetable shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. double acting baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into bowl and beat vigorously for 2 minutes on medium speed.
  2. Pour into two 8-inch layer pans lined on bottom with paper.
  3. Bake in 375° oven for 20 minutes.
