Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 egg (or two egg yolks)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Whisk all ingredients together in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture just comes to a boil.
  3. Serve over waffles topped with stewed or sugared fruit (try blueberries, strawberries, peaches, or anything you like).
