Ingredients

  • 1 gal. sliced dill pickles (please buy at King Saver)
  • 5 c. sugar (for pickles)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar (for extra juice)
  • 1 large or 2 small garlic buds, chopped
  • 5 tsp. Tabasco

Instructions

  1. Drain pickles; RESERVE 3 CUPS JUICE. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and 4 drops Tabasco to this juice and store in refrigerator. Put a layer of pickles back into the jar. Sprinkle 1 cup of sugar, 1/5 of the garlic and 1 teaspoon Tabasco on the pickle layer. Do this 5 times. Put the lid on the jar and turn it upside down. Turn it every day for 5 days. Separate into pint jars. This will fill 7 pints. Pour the juice to the top of the jars; put on the lids and refrigerate.
