Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. white syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. lemon extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cook sugar, salt, syrup and water until spins a long thread. Remove from heat; add cream of tartar.
  2. Pour over stiffly beaten egg whites.
  3. Beat well, then add powdered sugar and extract.
