Ingredients

  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 3/4 c. flour, sifted 3 times

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites stiff; add cream of tartar.
  2. Beat to mix.
  3. In second bowl, beat egg yolks and water a long time until like heavy cream.
  4. Beat in sugar; add salt and vanilla.
  5. Gradually add flour to egg mixture.
  6. Fold in egg whites.
