A rich and savory gravy made from pan drippings, enhanced with Worcestershire sauce, garlic, wine, and thickened to perfection, ideal for roasts or festive meals.

Ingredients

  • pan drippings
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • garlic powder
  • wine
  • cornstarch
  • water or veggie liquor
  • salt

Instructions

  1. First, remove nearly all fat from the pan and scrape the drippings loose.
  2. Depending on the amount of drippings and desired gravy quantity, prepare a slurry with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in 1 cup of cold water or veggie juice.
  3. Add garlic powder and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the slurry.
  4. Shake or stir the mixture well.
  5. Add the slurry to hot pan drippings and stir constantly.
  6. Pour in wine, salt, and pepper to taste.
  7. Stir until the gravy thickens rapidly and is smooth.
