Yams(Candied)

Ingredients

  • 6 medium yams
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 stick butter or oleo
  • 1/4 c. pecans, chopped
  • dash of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Boil yams until nearly done.
  2. Let cool and slice.
  3. Place in baking pan.
  4. Mix all ingredients together except pecans.
  5. Cook until slightly thickened.
  6. Pour over yams and bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.
  7. Top with pecans and broil about 5 minutes. "Watch closely."
  8. Yield:
