Almond Bombe

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pound cake
  • 1/4 c. Amaretto
  • 4 oz. blanched almonds
  • 2 c. heavy (whipping) cream
  • 3 oz. chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Slice pound cake into 1/4-inch slices.
  2. Slice each slice on the diagonal.
  3. Sprinkle pound cake with Amaretto.
  4. Arrange cake in a pinwheel design in a 1 1/2-quart mixing bowl which has been lined with plastic wrap.
  5. Toast almonds in 375° oven until golden brown, approximately 10 minutes.
  6. Cool and chop.
