Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Line the bottom and sides of an 8 or 9-inch cake pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Heavily butter or spray the foil with Pam.
  3. Set the pan on hot pads or a heat-resistant surface.
  4. Melt butter in a saucepan.
  5. Add sugar and stir until combined.
  6. Add corn syrup and almonds; stir to combine.
  7. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, until it turns golden brown, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  8. Working quickly, pour the candy into the prepared pan.
  9. Cool for about 15 minutes or until firm.
  10. Remove candy from the pan by lifting the edges of the foil.
  11. Peel off the foil.
  12. Cool thoroughly.
  13. Break into pieces.
