Alphabet Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef roast
  • salt and pepper
  • 10 34 ounces alphabet pasta and vegetable soup, undiluted
  • 12 cup dry red wine
  • 18 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Flavor beef with salt and pepper to your taste.
  2. Place roast in slow cooker.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine undiluted soup with wine and basil.
  4. Pour soup over roast and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
  5. Sprinkle with parsley.
  6. Place slice roast on a platter covered with aluminum foil.
  7. Put into a 200 degree oven to keep warm.
  8. Turn crock pot to high and thicken juices with cornstarch and water, about 15 minutes.
  9. Serve gravy over sliced roast.
