Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 6 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  3. Cut in butter until coarse.
  4. Add milk; mix until dough forms.
  5. Pat dough into 1/2-inch thick circles (handle as little as possible).
  6. Place on greased and floured baking sheet.
  7. Score in 8 to 12 slices.
  8. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
  9. Adjust oven temperature to 350° and continue baking another 5 to 10 minutes; nice during the holidays.
