Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 6 to 8 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced

Instructions

  1. Put sliced apples in bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Mix all ingredients together.
  3. Pour over apples.
  4. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until batter is done.
