Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 3 Tbsp. cold vegetable shortening
  • 3 Tbsp. ice water

Instructions

  1. Place flour, sugar and salt in bowl and mix.
  2. Add butter and shortening.
  3. Mix until it resembles a coarse meal.
  4. Slowly add water and mix until it comes together.
  5. Gently press dough into a ball.
  6. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface and fix into 9-inch pie plate.
