A delightful apple turnover using bread as a quick crust, filled with tender cinnamon-spiced apples, perfect for a simple, handheld dessert or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Sugar Twin
  • 2 slices white bread

Instructions

  1. Cook the peeled, cored, and sliced apple with lemon juice, water, cinnamon, and Sugar Twin in a saucepan until the apple is tender.
  2. Allow the apple mixture to cool.
  3. Remove crusts from the bread slices and roll them very thin.
  4. Place half of the cooled apple mixture on each slice of bread and fold diagonally to form a turnover.
  5. Moisten the edges of the bread with water.
  6. Press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  7. Bake at 425°F until golden brown or at 350°F for a crispier texture.
