Ingredients

  • 12 lb. apples (mixture of varieties)
  • cold water to cover
  • 1 pkg. baking or wine yeast
  • 3 lb. or more sugar

Instructions

  1. Use a 3 to 5 gallon plastic container or stone crock.
  2. Place chopped or thinly sliced apples, stems removed, into the container.
  3. Add water and yeast; stir well.
  4. Cover the container with a clean dish towel and secure with a rubber band or string.
