Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can sliced apples
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 stick margarine, melted
  • 4 slices bread

Instructions

  1. Heat apples, sugar and spices together. Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes. Toss bread cubes in melted margarine until bread has absorbed all of the margarine. Put the apple mixture in a casserole dish and arrange bread cubes on top. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until hot and bread crumbs are crisp. Serves 6.
