Ingredients

  • 24 whole cloves
  • 1 bottle Claret or Burgundy
  • 2 mandarins
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Stick cloves into the mandarins and roast in a warm oven at about 250°F until the skin is brown.
  2. Remove the mandarins from the oven, cut into quarters, and place in a saucepan.
  3. Cover the mandarins with Claret or Burgundy and add sugar.
  4. Simmer the mixture until hot.
  5. Strain and serve.
