Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water

Instructions

  1. Pour lukewarm water over yeast to dissolve.
  2. Scald milk and melt butter and sugar in it.
  3. Allow the milk mixture to cool.
  4. Add the flour, beaten eggs, dissolved yeast, salt, and lemon extract to the cooled mixture.
  5. Beat well until the dough is smooth.
  6. Put the dough in a warm place to rise until it doubles in size.
  7. Once risen, place the dough in a greased pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F for about 30 minutes or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
