Ingredients

  • 3 cans whole water chestnuts
  • 2 lb bacon
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wrap each water chestnut with a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Place the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine ketchup and brown sugar.
  6. Simmer over low heat until the mixture is well blended and slightly thickened.
  7. Remove the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts from the oven and brush or dip them into the ketchup-brown sugar glaze.
  8. Serve hot or at room temperature.
